M I A M I
Long time no write.
Fortunately, this doesn't mean nothing happened in the last couple of weeks. Quite the opposite! I was in Stockhom visiting Ati, went to several Accenture parties, oh yes and apart from enjoying my free-time, I was also working...
Skiing season is finally over and the first sunrays over Norway, the first blossoming flowers and the first days in just shorts and t-shirts inspired Jens and me to truly start spring time with our own little spring break in:
MIAMI!!!!
Already the flight started very American. I sat between a priest and a very christian nurse from his community who just came back from a missionary trip to Africa. But my first skepticism was realy unfounded - none of them tried to convert me. Instead, I got an interesting insight about how a church service can be held in a modern way, using modern music and technology. And as having been engaged in church youth work myself, I am pretty sure German churches could indeed need some help regarding making church going interesting for young people.
Well, but this discussion is not the main purpose of this article. The main purpose is to tell you that we had a fantastic time in Miami!!! We lived in a hotel that is haunted by a Mafia ghost (obviously one of Al Capone's former gangmembers whom he killed in the diningroom of this hotel - at least this is what the Algerian taxi driver told us), additionally it has the biggest hotel pool in the whole USA and everybody called me ma'am. Weird. Oh, I forgot that we were not the only V.I.P.s staying there, also Jay-Z came by for the sunday brunch :-) As with the elk, I only have eyewitnesses but no picture proof - but all the huge rapper-bodyguards around him kinda scared me and I didn't dare to take a picture :-(
We also went on a waterscooter drive where I nearly peed in my pants - hate water... And especially do I not like someone else speeding up across the water when I can barely hold on to his lifevest to not fall off... But ok, it was a kind of funny experience ;-)
Miami is a great place for holiday, but as a city, I have to admit it will not make it to one of the top places in the "My favourite US cities"-list. There is just not enough "downtown", in that respect, I have to say, I am quite European. I need a city with a center. And a central shopping street :-)

What a Jetski ride can do to you :-)))

Baywatch: Miami

C.S.I.: Miami ?!?!?!

And the nice view from our hotel room.
