The weather is crazy

I admit, I am getting old (or just bored) as I am beginning to talk about weather... Are there any more boring things that people can talk about?!
Anyway, I feel that this crazyness is worth mentioning. Three days ago, it had 35 degrees (although it only felt like 28, but I guess we have already too well adapted to the circumstances), when suddenly in the evening it began to rain like hell and: hail!! Yes, bean-sized (in mexico everthing comes with frijoles :-) ) hail corns. And immediately, temperatures dropped by 20 degrees. Okay, you might say, in Germany or Norway it's around 0, so 15 are still pretty comfortable... I have to object: They are not, if ten minutes before you could still wear a t-shirt and suddenly you have to wear 4, cause unfortunately you thought Mexico was a warm country and you didn't bring a sweater... But the worst thing is a lack of isolation of doors and windows in our flat and a lack of heating. I was seriously considering turning on the oven and just leaving its door open... This morning I couldn't get myself to get out of bed, as it was so freezing in the room. While I am writing this, my feet are slowly escaping feelability... I think they might be turning into iceblocks soon. I am using my laptop to heat at least the upper parts of my leg.

Oh, btw, yesterday I had a very exciting intercultural experience. We had a merger negotiation simulation. I was in a team with two marrocan girls and a french guy, and the counter team was only Italians. Yes, now I know what it looks like when two nations with quite a lot of temperament and passion have different opinions on a subject. Yes, it can involve some shouting, and at one point the library guard had to ask us to be a bit calmer as we disturbed people in other group rooms... Very interesting indeed. I am not looking forward to have a negotiation with Italians maybe again later in my professional career. I hope I can escape that ;-)

I'm going to defrost my feet now ;-)

Saludos

I actually realized yesterday, that this is the first time in my life that I sat outside on a balcony at night in just jeans and a top in NOVEMBER (!) without feeling cold.
very nice indeed :-)

What people had long warned me about...

... has finally happened. We were robbed. In the middle of the day, among loads of people. An audacious and ice-cold robbery. Well, luckily it was not me who was robbed, but my friend Tine. We were sitting in a little park (near the palace of justice actually!!!!!), when two cut about three-year-old boys came to us, charmed us with their sweet smiles - well, until the obvious question came "Pesos?!?!" Nope, no pesos... The cute smile vanished from their faces and they started sneaking around us, suddenly taking Tine's lemonade and walking off.
This boldness left us all speechless.
Their mum, sitting 50m away was probably really happy that her kids got something to drink... I don't want to know what these kids are doing in ten years...
We were almost considereing stealing something from their mum's chips stand in return, but we are just too honest, I guess ;-)
