Back in Oslo again :-) Although i have to say, with mixed feelings... I had a really great time at home: a big thanks to you all my friends in Uttenreuth, Erlangen, etc.!!!!! I miss you already! It feels a bit weird to be back in Norway, in a new flat without furniture, knowing it will be quite a long time until I come back to Germany again... Also knowing that all coming holidays at home will never be as long again (at least not if Accenture doesn't give me extra holidays ;-) )...
I guess I will need some days to adapt to this "new" situation again...
Anyway, life's too funny and short to talk about sad things all the time, so let's talk about funny things:
MOVING.
After dragging my parents and Jens through IKEA for about 3 or 4 hours, we finally found shelves and a table and chairs. Relieved and happy, we made our way to the furniture pick-up, to discover that shelves are really big and LONG packages and that our car might actually be too short :-S Additionally, the table we had needed at least one hour to decide for, was already sold out in this store... Ah, first flash of panic. We only bought the small shelves then. And some "Klappstuehle" for the balcony.
So at least, everyone had a place to sit this evening.
Luckily, Jens had bought the bed (whhich I had told him) a week earlier. However, when I told him which bed I liked and especially which size of bed should fit, I kinda seemed to have exaggerated the room size a little meanwhile... Well, let's just say, it fits into the room, the bed. Quite exactly. However, gaining weight is now a big no-no, or otherwise i won't make it past the door into the bed. Neither would i make it jumping over the frame on the foot-end of the bed... 160x200 in a room of 180x220... That's what I call optimal usage of available space ;-)
The next day, we tried all different ways to enlargen our car, and who-had-believed-it, finally all the long shelves that we bought in another IKEA store the other day, fit in it!!! We had to come back for the table (yes, they did have the same table in the other store :-D ) a separate time...
Now it looks quite cosy in our living room, with some empty shelves and a lot of shelf packages (the ones that didn't fit on the balcony anymore). Some we have redesigned to form a small living-room table. Creativity rules. Now Jens and me will only have to learn about drilling into those splices between tiles, so that we can put up our bathroom mirror. Can't be THAT difficult, can it?!
